Well, for once in my lif I took the route of sense and prudence. There was no way I was going to finish, or finsih in any kind of sensible time wthout exacerbating injury and causing longer term damage, so took teh decision not to start.
Was actually not too difficult a decision to make and, once made, did not feel any shame or regret or sadness about it. Had a leisurely morning, went for a nice long walk with children and dog. there will be many more races. Only have two feet and need both of them.

A wise man to know the difference between pushing yourself to your limits and pushing yourself over the edge. I'm sure once you've sorted the problem you'll line yourself up for another opportunity.
What extremes we are driven to eh? Sounds like it was absolutely the right decision to make though and a wise choice. Hope you are back out there being extreme in your more usual manner, soon!.😀
Wise choice. Well done for making it, I think as we go through our running journey we learn to protect ourselves a bit for future runs but still it must of been hard. Sounds like you had a good day to make up for it.
Well done Rig, and thanks for sharing. It's a tough call sometimes, we all need to know where to draw the line, most of us here have gone too far at one time or another. Good man xx
You do this running stuff in order to get (remain) healthy, not in order to cause yourself an injury. Sorry to hear it, but it was definitely the right decision.
