Day 2 for me and i'm finding this week quite hard. I'm completing the 3 min runs but my calves feel like they are going to burst and my lungs feel like they are going to explode my poor old knees are sore but I will not give up.
Week 3 : Day 2 for me and i'm finding this week... - Couch to 5K
Week 3
Well done, keep going C25k will get you there, and you can go at your own pace repeating weeks if you need to
Keep going! I found the three minute runs a struggle at first but by run 3 of that week they were much easier. Good luck!
Keep going, you'll get there and your fitness will improve in no time.
Are you stretching enough? Around week 3 every bit of me ached, I have pinched my husband's foam roller for my calves, thought they were going to go ping! Deeply unpleasant but helps a lot!
It will get easier, happy running!
Lungs - keep your breathing slow and deep so that u get plenty of oxygen in ur lungs. I even breathe well in the warm up run to get things going. Maybe consider a slower running speed too because it is about running for the time rather than racing.
Calves, I used to have a sort of burning pain in them both and I found relaxing the muscle as I ran, even flexing my ankle a bit more while running relieved it. Now I have graduated, I hardly get that at all so think it will get better for u. I used to say to myself "a sore leg won't kill u, keep going"!
Knee, that's a bit troublesome, does it hurt while u run or afterwards. I found squats and leg strengthening exercises on rest days helped me on run days. Get lots of rest between runs as you progress through the programme - spoil ur legs!!
Keep it up, it gets easier and even enjoyable but absolutely addictive!

Hi My knee pain is usually at the start of a run and after not during.I have run on grass the last couple of runs to see if that helps but it doesnt seem to make any difference.I am going to try ice after a run and see if that helps. After yesterdays run they seem to be less sore today so I am hoping that its just a question of time.

We've all been there and its worth persisting because you can and will do it !
