Oh yes. Good luck boys and we look forward to the race reports and photos. We're already proud of you.
I've just put a proof of the 'support poster' up on a fresh post because this forum doesn't let you add photos to comments on somebody else's posts.
Oooo good luck lads!!! ☺
All the very best gents.
I don't envy you at all in terms of what you face on Sunday but I am sure you will both do great.
Good luck Steve and Tomas, you'll both have a day to remember! And Turnturtle will be fab in her 10 miles too!
Good luck lads!!
Best of luck both of you, I can't wait to read your run reports...You'll smash it, we're all there in spirit... xxx
I wonder how Tomas is doing ? A mixture of nerves and excitement I would think.
I dont know whether I could ever do a Marathon, tbh. Not just having the physical and mental strength to complete it but also the training and preparation would tip me over the edge as I am a complete faffer when it comes to actually getting myself prepared enough to get out of the door without the constant check lists going on in my head !
I am the Mistress of Faffidge ! xxx
Thank you sooooo much RFC.
Race report to follow. But for now: Amazing race. Great crowd lining the streets of York and the roads in the countryside, loads of cheers and calling out the runners' names. I must have high five'd at least a hundred children and accepted gummy bears from a dozen kind strangers (plenty more offers, but there's a limit to how much I could eat). Beautiful weather. And the run/walk worked perfectly, 2:35 for the first half and 5:09 for the full. What more can anyone wish for? It was my most enjoyable race ever, so super chuffed. And, as they say, the pain goes away but the pride lasts forever.
A couple of great posters from along the route: "running: because football and rugby only requires one ball", "you kick ass-phalt", and the best "Go Tomas! Go Miles_Yonder" on the fence of our very own c25k'er turnturle's farm.
Fantastic Tomas !!
A truly magnificent achievement , flippin' awesome ! Sounds like there was loads of support along the way which must have been a great boost for you !
What a perfect day it sounds, one that will live in your memory forever !
Well done , I am in complete awe of anyone who takes part in Marathons, the training and preparation must be immense !
Many Congratulations to you and enjoy your well deserved rest ! xxx
