I've not done very well. I began ages ago and got to week 3 and stopped and started more than I care to remember. I'm going to start from the very beginning today as I've taken the afternoon off work especially to do so. I think half the battle is putting my running clothes on....once they are on, I'm committed!!! So wish me luck!!!
Starting all over again...: I've not done very... - Couch to 5K
Starting all over again...
Go for it. Have a lovely time. Slow jog/walk. Nowt to it. Just enjoy it and go very slowly.
This time, don't quit! You can do it!
Hello and good luck this afternoon. I think that starting from the beginning is a good idea if you have had a bit of a break. You can work back up to week 3 with the confidence that you can do it! I have just started week 5 so still relatively new to running myself, but I know that each run is something to feel proud of.
If you keep starting, you're persistent, aren't you? If you weren't you'd have just packed it in the first time. So good for you for keeping coming back like this. And now forget about whether you've done well or badly up to now. That's yesterday. Today you need to say, I WILL follow right through this time, even if it takes me a year.
As we all will tell you: First thing is to go Slow, and maybe a bit slower than that. This keeps you safe from injury, and gives your joints time to adapt to running. It also makes the whole programme much, much more manageable. It's cTO30, actually. You're going to go for the familiar minute, minute and a half, three(!!) minutes, ... again, and then you'll do more. If you do it slowly enough, you can complete the programme, Uninjured, and probably in the suggested time.
Once you've done that, you can start to think about things like going faster, further, staying where you are, etc. Tomorrow's problems. Just don't go importing them into today, that's all.
The autumn is the best time to start as it's cooler and you can distract from the effort by ogling all the gorgeous colours around. Why don't you post after each run so we can encourage you and keep you on track?
You can do it. We're all behind you.
