Since graduating, I have over stretched myself and have a niggly knee so today instead of running, decided to get my bike out. It is fantastic that C25K has made a huge difference to the strength of my legs and also my breathing is great now. Enjoyed it so much that I cycled into town and back and didn't want to stop, so found a muddy track in the woods and across the fields - so much more fun to be healthy and fit (exercise but low impact on my knees)! Still smiling now - 51 year old big kid! ππ

Sore knee, so cycled instead today

I've got back into my cycling a lot more now too. I always did cycle, but didn't admit to myself that I was getting less fit. Running has definitely helped with my breathing and general (incl cycling) fitness too! I just cycled 20k, return trip into town today too. My bike's still parked outside while I decide whether to go to my running group this eve or not...

Sounds like fun! Glad you enjoyed it.
Me too Joolie. I seem to have hurt my left leg at my colour run on saturday, so feel your pain. Good plan about cycling while you recover, I wonder if I can get in a quick 45 minute cycle before it goes dark after work?! Ooh, now you've got me thinking...
The picture says it all. Being on a bicycle going downhill on a tar road at 40 km/h is better than being on a motorbike and hitting 140, which is thousands of times more fun than being in a car doing 215.
(I once hitchhiked down from Zimbabwe, and got a lift in an old - but big - Mercedes. At one point the guy casually told his wife, "That's the takeoff speed of a Jumbo jet", so I looked, and saw the dial said 215. It was bit of a white knuckle journey, but it wasn't as exciting as going downhill on a bicycle - except maybe the bit where we had to swerve violently to overtake the truck parked on the road at the top of a blind rise that suddenly appeared as if out of nowhere.)

Ha ha, Its official ! Biking and C25k takes years off you !
Glad you enjoyed it Joolie, sounds like you had a lot of fun
I love that photo ! xxx
