I recommend calorie counting. You can use a free App called My Fitness Pal, calculate your weight loss goals and log food and exercise and use the forum. I have lost 16 lbs using this approach, still 28 lbs to go! Julie
I recommend Slimming World - a really good sensible and practical eating plan. I lost 3 1/2 stone with them and have kept it off for nearly 2 years now.
I've been doing slimming world and have lost 2st. But find it slow,my friend also goes she doesn't do any exercise and looses every week, I try to run a couple of times a week.
Yep! WW lifetime member. I've maintained my weight now for five years
Joining a class is great fun. Well, ours is! I try and go every week and I stay to class, which is the important part I'd say. Those who stay to class are more likely to stick at it. You have to be fully engaged to succeed as you have to be prepared to make CHANGES! Once you've accepted that things have to change then you'll do well
Even making small changes to your eating/drinking habits can make a lot of difference
I do Slimming World in Frampton Cotterell and have just started back running (wobbling/shuffling) to work alongside. I graduated last year but then after week 9 seemed to lose my mojo - I supposed I felt like I'd finished so didn't have to bother anymore. Big Mistake!!!! Am back on Week 4 and working my way through it again. Best of all, with Slimming World, if you do consistent exercise over a period of 4/6 weeks you get a nice shiny sticker and a Certificate!!! Yeehhhh! x
Hi Jana. No, not following diet plans but I just watch what I eat, try and eat clean etc. Do you mean you're stuck in a rut regarding weight loss? How long have you been on a diet plan, which one and how often do you run/exercise?
I am only just about to start week 7 of the plan but I am hoping that running 3 times a week plus interval training and some body conditioning sessions will help - surely it's got to be better than doing nothing
Also I am going to start restricting the carbs. Might have some oats soaked overnight in almond milk, but then it's going to be mainly veggies, protein and healthy fats.
Remember, it's not necessarily your weight (although us women in particular are obsessed with the scales :-)) but go by your body fat percentage.
Good luck
My partner and I joined Slimming World in February after our wedding planner recommended it to us!
I lost two stone in three months but have since then plateau-ed off. I think probably since I stopped attending the meetings I have slacked off a little. But still try to follow the plan. My partner still attends and has just achieved her 3.5 stone award!
It's a great plan for sticking to long-term, for life really!
