From Slimming world to walking to running

I’ve just started on my C25K and am about to do W1R3

The first 2 have been good so I don’t see this being a challenge until next week

A year ago at 42 I decided that after thinking for a few months about wanting to lose weight, that thinking about it wasn’t working and I had to actually do something about it. So I joined slimming world.

Having never done any kind of diet before and being 18st5lb I had no idea what I could achieve, so my first target weight of even 15st then seemed like a distant dream

But with determination I got there and re targeted, 3 months ago I got to my target of 12st5lb with a 6st loss in 9 months

The first 4 stone was solely through eating, but with that loss I felt I could be more active now, as I used to get out of breath putting my shoes on, I was soon walking up to 150miles a month at a brisk pace, 14:30 per mile on 6-10 mile walks putting 5k at under 45 mins without any running.

So now my challenge is to attempt some running, I’d never have ever thought I could do this a year ago, and I’m excited to see what I can do

Fingers crossed for next week

Fabulous: you’ve done so well already! I too am a SW member, but currently a bit stuck at around 2 stones off, but with probably another 3 to go. Trying to give my head a shake a re-focus, and the discipline of running three times a week is helping. I’m only in week 2 and my knee is complaining a bit, but I’m enjoying it. I hope you do too 👍

ThanksMolly, I’ve just done my W1R3 and my Garmin app keeps crashing, I’m sure it’ll save it eventually though :)

Ready for week 2 now 🤞
