.......but I did it. My first 10k. Time 1.09 exactly.

Chuffed with that. Was running around grinning to myself. Think people thought I was mad, one fellow jogger even blew kisses my way and shouted "go on gorgeous". Bloody hell, I nearly fell over, especially as my running look is not a good one.

Hair up and swishing is not my best look but hey, who cares. Even took a self congratulatory selfie in the middle of the street when Mabel had beeped her 10k.

As always, thank you all for your support and advice.

So it is a slightly teary and achey Jules that will go to bed tonight wondering how my life can have changed so much in 12 weeks,

Luvs to you all

Jules

Fantastic! Congratulations and well done ☺

10k and swishy hair - you've turned into one of those running goddesses you see in the magazines!!!!

Be very proud of yourself ☺

Wow that is a brilliant time for a first 10k (or any 10k!) and so soon after graduation!

You have done so well!!

Dunnja profile image
DunnjaGraduateβ€’ in reply todagshar

Thank you Dagshar. I'm not sure how quick that is but I wanted to be under 1 hr 10 if possible but wasn't really checking the time that much. Just wanted to get round.

The picture says it all: This is doing you the world of good. Your camera caught a bit of sparkle in those eyes.

Aww. That choked me a little thank you. I've found myself after being lost for a couple of years. That's probably what you can see xx

gary_bart profile image

Could be.

"Hey, I know you ..."

And it looks like you're happy to see you, then. :-)

Not sure if the "split personality interpretation" is working as well as it could, here ... But yes, it's nice returning from being lost.

It's alright, I'm with you xx

Thank you. Am quite chuffed with myself. Couldn't run up the stairs in June. So hard to believe what this programme can do. Amazes me xx

Wow, 10k after 12 weeks. I struggle to do 7! And never done more. Brilliant time too! Well done.

Dunnja profile image
DunnjaGraduateβ€’ in reply toRlear

Thank you. Well it's 3 months so give or take a couple of days but yep.

I am slightly addicted to this whole running lark. The feeling it gives you is amazing.

Long may it continue. Xx

Rlear profile image

Yes I'm addicted too. I run every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On wk 3 of the BUPA 5-10k training plan. Not sure I'll ever be able to run 10k though.

Never say never. Said the same thing a few days ago, then nailed a 10k the following day :)

Dunnja profile image

I tried the 10k programmes and couldn't get on with them. Just keep going, you will get there.

Woohoo, go Jules! You rock....

What an achievement, and in 12 weeks too, amazing...

Love the picture, nice to finally see you, as FB is being an Ar&e hehehehehe....

The swishy runner is a good look 😊

Thank you Hun.

I have googled the facebook thing and just can't find an answer. I think it may be something to do with how we use it asI log in via an app for the iPad.

It such a shame as I see yours by logging is separately but none of my posts show on there.

Even tried asking the youngsters at work but they don't know either😒

Wow well done I haven't tried 10k yet but definitely couldn't do it in that time ! How do you manage to look so good? I would be beetroot colour even after 5k ;)

Dunnja profile image
DunnjaGraduateβ€’ in reply toridingstar

Oh, I think I was red, just a fuzzy picture.

I was pleased with the time but went out remembering something Toonlou had said some time ago about not worrying about times etc and just running.

Takes the pressure off somehow. Well, clearly doesn't stop the upset stomachs!!!

Waheeeey! You are the best, ze Beez kneeez! Happy dance going on for you here in France. Isn't it fab to see how far we go (literally) in so little time? Twelves weeks to your first 10K, that's amazing! I will be looking out for someone to blow me a kiss today, but I have a feeling that the local wine-growers will be too busy doing other things. *Harrumpf*

Dunnja profile image

Big kisses coming across the channel.

I love France, saw a gorgeous house for sale there recently. Think the kids would kill me. They think moving out of catchment is bad enough !!

Wow, well done & fantastic time too. It feels a bit like a 10km first timers club on the boards this week & I'm hot on your heels to join in!

Great pic too. ☺ xxx

Thank you.

Hmmm, maybe next year...late next year. The half marathon in my town us next week so maybe I could try for that next year.

I am helping out though...on a water station with my little Uns.

Fantastic Jules, just fantastic :) Cracking good time too. You must be absolutely delighted with what you've achieved in such a short time. You're a natural! :)

Dunnja profile image
DunnjaGraduateβ€’ in reply toAncientMum

Thank you lovely. I'm a little dazed by my progress if I'm honest. I can't quite believe this is me.

How are you doing. Always wonder when I pass someone without a swish if it is you xxxx

AncientMum profile image
AncientMumGraduateβ€’ in reply toDunnja

I'm easy to spot. I'm the one with zero swish, a beetroot red face, gasping for air in a too big fluorescent Nike top (long story!) :)

Doing OK. Just finishing w7. About ready to brave some hills :-O xx

Dunnja profile image
DunnjaGraduateβ€’ in reply toAncientMum

Ooh brilliant. Let me know when you want to practice xxx

AncientMum profile image
AncientMumGraduateβ€’ in reply toDunnja

I passed 2 swishy ladies this morning (running in the opposite direction, obviously) Were either of them you?

Dunnja profile image
DunnjaGraduateβ€’ in reply toAncientMum

LOL Carrie. I was swishing this morning but I was running with a man. He's trying to get refit after a foot injury and doesn't like running On his own so I tag along.
