Week 4 run2. For some reason it's always the second run I struggle with most and least enjoy. Today was no different. Nearing the end of the final run, my heart just wasn't in it. Strange because my breathing was fine, legs fine. It's like I just run out of ummff some how.
So, instead of quitting ( I'd have never run again) I just said to myself, 'just to the next tree' then 'just to the bend' then 'just to the lake'. You get the picture.
Any how, before I knew it I'd finished.
Mental trickery but it worked!

Well done! That's exactly the right attitude. As Laura says on one of the podcasts, it's better to push yourself to the end no matter how horrible it is (as long as you're not in physical pain!), than to give up. Look how pleased you are when you've done it
Well done ! You sound just like me. I had another visit from the gremlins last night, and I'm on week 7. I was playing the ' just get to there' game too!
I have always found my 2nd runs to be most difficult as well, I have put mine down to doing them on a Wednesday evening, middle of the week with work and perhaps I am slightly tired. Well done though you got through it.
Mental Trickery is great. Keep it positive, don't think about the pain, or how far still to go. Think positive, how far you have done, how great it will feel when you get home. How good your last run felt.
Positivity pushes you on, negativity holds you back.
well done, half the battle is with the gremlins in our heads , you showed them ! great effort .
