So despite my worst efforts (I was woefully underprepared) I managed to get around the "Spitfire 10K" on Sunday. This was at RAF Hendon museum and was part of the commerative events marking 75 years since the Battle of Britain.
Slightly annoyed that my timing chip failed but my GPS had me down for an avg pace of 7'12" per km so I'm claiming a 1:12:00 finish time (a PB)
May have something to do with the new shoes? Either way I got a very nice medal as reward for my efforts
(shoe pic to follow)

That is a superb piece of bling. Most envious of that one.
I saw an event erlier in the year which was also BoB theme and had a triptych of medals that linked togother to form a spitfire but to win all three you had to do the 10k, 10 mile and 15 milers on the same day which seeemd OTT even to me.
Well done on your 10k. Don't worry abou the chip time. Often a bit hit-or-miss tbh, and 1.12 is not a bad time.
I have to agree jealous of that lovely bling, great cause as well. Well done on your PB. All round a good egg of a race as they used to say, or not, that might of come from sketch shows😀.
A huge well done, your an inspiration for me, I'm doing my first 10k in 3 weeks time and feels similarly under prepared!!! But if I can do nearly as well as you did I will be very happy!
