Today was my first run in the Couch to 5k Programme.

I was inspired by the efforts of my Partner, Steph, who ran in the Race for Life last year and is now preparing for a 10k in May.

If she can do it, then I reckon I should too!

So we've both signed up for a 5k in July. No turning back now!

You started it, the rest comes with time and practice. Good luck.

I watched the ladies I work with (in their fifties) go from walking at lunch time to jogging for 30 and it put me to shame. It's a plan that works. But I guess you know that as you've seen it in person. Enjoy it and the nicer weather as it comes.

What a lovely comment about your colleagues. Running is such an amazing phenomenon, you just want to share that good feeling with others, and there is a real bond between runners too.

Many congratulations, Slideman. It is a great programme ( so far - I'm only on week 3!) and you'll find this a wonderful community of support and encouragement.
