Feeling a bit apprehensive for 6am and for the first run of week 4 GULP
Panic for the first time !!: Feeling a bit... - Couch to 5K
Panic for the first time !!
Might be a bit chilly so be ready for that! If you have been following the programme you will be fine! Nice and steady and in the shower by 645am feeling brill!
What's the worst that can happen? (I mean apart from having to go out there and make friends with Jack Frost when it might be less painful to just meet some nice hill instead). If you try the run, and it doesn't succeed completely, you will at least succeed partially. That's success. It's certainly not failure, if you like your success all to be absolute. If it's not what you can bring yourself to call success (but it is one), it's much, much, much more like a success than a failure. So much for the worst case.
What's the best that can happen? Maybe once you're nicely warmed up you hit a nice "groove", you get into a nicely balanced run, you feel good, you tick it off. Or you hit some nice challenges to try your mettle on, and see if you can push it a bit further. You could have a good easy day, or a good tough day (which it'll be less easy to speak well off at the time, I suppose).
Best case looks good to me; worst case doesn't look that bad (it's just information/ feedback in the end; if you're not ready wait a little, and it'll all happen in good time).
But brave you for doing it all at 6am. I don't think I can manage to say anything positive about that. You'll have to fill in the details of the joys of puffing smoke as you go.
Good luck, I hope it goes well. Going well means first that you actually go out the door and start! After that, everything else is a bonus. Go on, if you don't you'll wish you had! 😀
Ps, you could repeat the week3 run if you prefer, but it's really worth trusting the programme and giving the week4 run a go- just think of the sense of achievement when you succeed!
All done whoop whoop now for a nice shower before work feeling great xx
I had to go out mega early and found it a bit creepy as there was no one around 😐 - still, I did it, prefer going at 9.30 am when there are dog walkers, cyclists and other runners about!! Julie
