I have started C25k twice now. I have been going with my buddy but she can only come once this next week. So rather than coping out (as I would normally do) I'm taking the massive step of going it alone myself for the very first time. Alarm clock's set for 6a.m and hubby has got Laura loaded into my ipod.
Lets see if she's as motivating as my normal running buddy! Here goes......

Good luck tomorrow and good on you for making the decision to continue without your buddy.
Going out on your own isn't such a bad thing as you can set your own pace. I know it's nice to have moral support but it's also good to have the time to yourself to empty your mind or even just to think things through. I say this, however, when I'm running I'm usually chanting some mantra or other- only 3 more runs! I can do this! Or breathe girl breathe!!!
Thanks for your reply I am seriously lacking in confidence and have never done it myself but as I dont want to start again I think I should give it a bash. My buddy is great as she started running last year and lets me set my own pace but Im worried I will just give up..... or not get outta bed!! Here's hoping I do it. And yup, I will certainly let you know how I get on.
You won't be out running by yourself tomorrow... I will be up and out at 6 am tomorrow too! Wait till you feel the sense of achievement at having completed it on your own. I'm only on Wk 4 but every time I go out I feel proud of myself for something that's not even actually related to completing the actual minutes. It may have been completing a run by myself, or keeping running when I came face to face with someone, wearing running tights lol or running in daylight!! I didn't know I had so many issues before I started running!!
Oh ya dancer!!! I did it! I only went and flammin' did it!! My virgin solo run. In the rain. It was magic! It was tough. It was so so hard. But I did it
Well done to you for getting out - and even more congratulations for completing the run. There is nothing stopping you now!
Well done for making the decision to get out there on your own and really pleased you enjoyed it. You have taken the responsibility for your own running now and that is an achievement. Running buddies are great but if you can rely on your own motivation you will always have that independence. You're not entirely on your own though - you have our support and, of course, Laura is with you every step of the way. Good luck with your next run and my very best wishes to you.
Thank you so much everyone. You are all so helpful and encouraging. I am so chuffed I found this fab group and look forward to earning my Graduate badge!! Tho just now I can't even begin to believe I can do more than the 90 secs Im currently doing :-0 xx
