I usually use a circuit of not quite 5km starting from home. The first half is downhill all the way and then, the inevitable up hill slog on the return. As it's not quite long enough for W9 I end up running round in irritating circles to make up the time.
I changed my usual route today so my warm up walk was all the way to the top of the hill I live on, and the first 10 mins was a super enjoyable run along the top and back down again. Then I joined on to my usual circuit through the woods. It did mean that my nemesis hill climb came 10 minutes later in my usual route, by which time I was flagging, so that's the weakness in the plan but I could feel the finish line drawing me along. I also used endomondo for the first time today and the announcements as each km ticked by really helped
I feel like I cheated a bit as I didn't have to finish the full climb up the hill to home though. Anyone else get guilt like that? Stupid really, I long for a nice flat route deep down!
Anyway, chuffed with the distance, though it was probably helped by the lovely downhill bit at the start
(lol at irritability tag, I'm buzzing!)
