Is there a Doctor in the house?: OK, my knee is... - Couch to 5K
Is there a Doctor in the house?

Sounds like knackered knee.........see the doc.

I think you need the doc outside the house....Downhill usually worse if you have knee issues, so better get it checked out pronto - good luck.
Yes, I'd see the doc ASAP. And maybe do some searching online to see whether or not to immobilise it, and if so, how. You might end up having to splint it and tie everything together with tracksuit pants or something. That doesn't sound to me like a knee that can be left to move as it will.
Well the good news, I have no damage to my ligaments or cartilage, she seems to think its because I'm a wimp and my inner thigh muscle is not pulling my knee cap over to the position it should be in, she also said I need to strengthen my glutes. She moved my leg around in various positions but I experienced no pain, but I still get discomfort going down hill, so of course she said run the flat and uphill and walk the downhill for now. She said carry on running, use a foam roller, my knees should recover. Now the bad news, yesterday I was diagnosed with skin cancer! On my ear fortunately,, if there is some good to come from this bad news, it is I have to have some of my ear removed, this in turn will make me more aerodynamic and give more straight line speed, so some new pb's at park run should be on the horizon, I have to laugh, what else can I do? Many thanks to those who inquired, it is much appreciated and very kind of you.

Oh I am so sorry to hear that , hope youre feeling okay xxx
Good-ish news about the knee, but I am so sorry to hear about your other news , that mustve been quite a shock for you
Fingers crossed that everything is okay and you get it sorted soon xxx
Yes its an injury Ive known about for 2 years and thought nothing of it. I was gobsmacked when he said its cancer, bit annoying given I've done all I can to keep in shape etc. But, its an area I can manage without and I'm not vain in anyway, so if I end up looking like spock then so be it lol. Life deals tougher hands to others, so I shouldn't complain. Its very kind of you to ask. Be nice to put a face to a name, if you ever find yourself feeling like running watergrove I'll accompany you around if wanted.
I can imagine that was a huge shock for you , I am glad that they can remove it, you can always say you had a run in with Mike Tyson ha ha
Watergrove is near Rochdale isnt it ? Have I got the right one ? Thats the one with "The Hills " !!!! Many have gone there, done it once never to return ! xxx
You're the second person to suggest I've been in a fight with Mike Tyson lol. Yes, Watergrove as hill, lots of them and I hate every one of them, they are evil creations designed to destroy pb's and often succeed. Many do run it, never to be seen again and I can't say as I blame them.

Here's me running it with a friend with those evil hills in clear view.
Oh, its just brought up loads of photos, unless Im not looking at it properly
I havent been able to tackle hills yet, I know its something I am going to have to do at some point, and its all experience and character building , but I cant go there in my head yet I just want slight inclines to start off with, not whopping great mountains !
xxx
lol well they arnt whopping great mountains, its just as soon as you think you've done it, there's another and another, its like a roller coaster of hills. I can't deny, they are testing, but some of the guys get round in less than 19 minutes, I'm astonished. I feel so unfit when I see them. They can knock your confidence which is why some people don't come back because their times are slower than on other courses.
I'm picture No8 with a female friend who I ran it with last week
