Yippee, we did it! In the end we left our support team at home due to the unpredictable weather, and completed W9R3 on our own together. Can't wait to claim our graduate badge.
By way of celebration I have signed us up for the Robin Hood 5k trail run at the beginning of November (enough motivation I hope to keep us pushing ourselves over the Summer). We are also calling in at Lidl's tomorrow to check out their running clothes.
Following on from the old trainers posts, I have attached a photo of our old faithfuls. Daughters are Adidas (looking sparkling white as I had to machine wash them at the weekend) and mine are North Face. Neither pairs are very flash, but they are super comfy. I think we will be getting a new pair of trainers each in the next few weeks in preparation for when our current ones go into retirement.
Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last 9 weeks. The friendship and positivity we have received was unexpected but truly inspirational. This isn't the end - it's just the beginning!....

WEll done!!!!! Many congratulations. You must be extremely chuffed this evening. I shall be joining the Lidl queue in the morning, bright and early. My Lidl capris are lovely and I can't wait to see this year's offerings. Treat yourselves cos you earned it.
The 5 k trail run ey. Hmmmmmm I'm not too far from there. I might be up for a bit of that. Not fit yet but might well be by then and looking for something to give my legs a run out
Thank you! Couldn't have planned the Lidl's running gear, and our graduation better. I feel a whole new running wardrobe awaits.
Have never done a trail run before, or anything more than a charity fun run...so the beginning of November could be interesting! I figured that after another 3 months running we could give it a good go!
Have requested a graduate badge, and am eagerly anticipating its arrival!
Trail running is good but in November it could be quite muddy so your old shoes should be ok for that. You could treat yourself to trail running shoes if you're going to run trails on a regular basis.
Congratulations - well done! Enjoy yourselves - are you going to try the next podcasts? I'm going to give them a whirl😊 I've enjoyed following your progress so keep posting!
Thank you! Will be starting some off road running in preparation for our trail run in November. Will be looking at the C25K+ podcasts, and had a vague plan to do 1x timed run, 1x distance run and 1x fartlek run a week...but enjoying ourselves is the priority! Will keep you all posted on our progress!
congratulations to you both and happy running and good luck with whatever path you next choose to take on your running journey
Well done! I have my third week 9 run on Saturday - so excited! I've a bottle of prosecco ready to celebrate all of us who have got there in the end!xx
