Just watch the Garmin Forerunner 10 movie clip on line and read the brief instructions. You'll soon get the hang of it. You get more used to it as you use it. Auto pause is good if you are crossing roads etc as it stops when you do and kicks off again automatically when you start running again. I use the virtual pacer a lot but you don't need that til you've Graduated
