Just a quickie, just did my first day on couch to 5k. Been meaning to do it for ages to try and help with stress related issues, and hoping to lift my mood. So far so good, i must say exercise certainly does make you feel more lighthearted. Here's hoping I can keep it up. Nice to meet you all . Thanks.

Welcome to Couch25k and this community. Well done for taking the plunge you won't regret it. I started just before Christmas and graduated at Easter. You will soon be addicted - so watch out!!

Great! Welcome- I give the same two pieces of advice to everyone starting out. Run as slowly as you possibly can to begin with. Use this forum to help, motivate and console you. I could barely manage to run for one minute in Feb and now I'm four runs from graduating! You absolutely can do this and I'll bet you will find it does wonders with your mood. Good luck!

Thank you, here's hoping.

I'm glad it makes you feel better.  We are all more likely to continue doing an exercise that we like and makes us feel good.  Just a word of warning, however, you are in danger of being bitten by the running bug !

Thought I would write down my daily details as it makes me accountable to myself (silly I'm sure).

Day 1/ walk distance 2.27 walk pace 09.41 run distance 1.1 run pace 07.12

Feeling good that I've actually got off my bottom and made an effort, found it quite easy.Lifted my mood just knowing I'm trying to make an effort in helping myself.

Day2/ walk distance 2.29 walk pace 09.36 run distance 1.09 run pace 07.19

Managed to persuade a friend to try it today as well, really enjoyed , it passed quite quickly as we chatted away. Good to be outside and mixing with people, looking forward  to tomorrow feeling positive.

Day 3 /walk distance 2.21 walk pace 0.57 run distance 1.14 run pace 07.01

Love the feeling of euphoria  about half an hour after its finished. Feel as if I've accomplished something, also enjoyed my food a lot more. Somehow felt I  had earned it (a bit crazy but Heh! there you go!). Also looked at the stars and enjoyed being out and about instead of indoors.

I am using running as much for my mental Heath as for my physical health. It works wonders, and even though it's addictive, it's just the best habit ever!!

Keep up the good work. The tough regime will test you, but you'll learn that you are capable of stuff you never believed possible.  🏃🏻😊
