Getting behind
I think most of us did at 1st , kinda feels strange being out there and doing on your own for a while , you can always try the c25K + podcasts
bottom line is to be out there running and enjoying it
Hey Dawn!!! Was wondering how you were getting on. I don't really miss Laura as long as I have my tunes and the run keeper thing telling me how far I've gone. Still haven't done the magic distance but going out two or three times pw to keep up the 30 mins. I would quickly loose it otherwise. My legs look great (shame about the belly lol) and I can sing better (lol more puff!). Your 22 mins was a practice! Bet you do 30 next time. X
Hey Pam , sounds like your doing great.....gutted I've not been keeping up with my runs......but hopefully now I will be back to going out 3 times a week......felt better after my run today....hopefully back to 30 mins soon 😃😃 xx
I carried on running with the week 8 and 9 podcasts for a couple of months after graduating - I found it helped me consolidate the habit of running 3x a week. Until I got so sick of the music I couldn't bear it any longer, then I knew it was time to move on...
I carried on with Laura for a couple of months post graduation. My preferred podcast was W6R3 and I just ran through the whole thing. Then I decided to try for 10k and did too much distance too quickly, running further each run instead of running further on one run per week, and had to take some time off to overcome strains and then illness ... don't make the same rookie mistake - many of us on here have! Anyway, when I got better, I used the the C25K+ podcasts, then a bit of audiofuel and a bit of my own music ... and eventually I got up to the magic 10k.
Now I just potter along with same range of music/podcasts two or three times a week and just run as far or as fast as I feel like (though I'm having a bit of a low-mojo phase at the moment - hoping this will pass soon).
The secret is definitely to keep going out even if you don't feel like it when the alarm goes off. If you really want to, you can always find excuses not to run, so just put it in the diary, and get those running shoes on!
