Real life run...

I have read and read the posts on here for weeks if not months now and have joined you (in my head)! Until tonight! I got out of the bloody door and did week 1, run 1! I can't believe I've done it. Why I was so apprehensive, I don't know. Thank you for each inspiring read and each pick me up/kick up the rear for anyone who's needed it. We all do, in different places at different times!!

Late last night I wrote down the runs in my diary and told my husband and sons when I was going to do it. I wrote down 5 things I was going to change, all achievable and mastered once at a time, no matter how long it took. More fruit n veg, walk more etc... Seeing it in writing has just made it 'click' for me. I need guidance and motivation, we'll being a part of this community has, is and will be an invaluable source of support, so big thanks to all, you're amazing doing what you're doing :-) xxx

That is fantastic! Well done you. Who knows where those future runs will take you...

You should be really proud of your accomplishment today because youve done what you set out to do, which was to start. Upwards and onwards as they say :)

Just keep going :)

Well done Lizzie.

It's a truly great programme and most addictive. As you progress through the weeks you'll look at the challenges ahead and wonder how you will possibly achieve them... But you will and you will feel amazing.

Keep us posted

Jules 😀

Well done Lizzie there's no telling how far or where you can go. I'm on business up in Glasgow and have just come in from a 6.5km run having discovered a really pretty park a mile or so from my hotel, that's one of the great things about this lark, anywhere, anytime...and it's free!!!!!

Welcome to the madhouse! I skulked around in the shadows and read posts until week 4 - then regretted not having done it sooner :D Congrats for defining your targets and getting those trainers on. within weeks you'll be hooked and getting all flustered when you see running gear reduced at the sales.

Keep us posted!

This is an amazing programme, just stick with it, check back on here often and post and let us all know how you are getting on. We really are quite a nosy lot and love to hear everybody's stories. Good luck with it, I am sure you won't regret it x :-)

Hi Lizzie and welcome.

The hardest run is the first, and you've done it!

Running is very mental as well as physical and the gremlins in your head telling you "I can't do that" or "I'm too tired" or "Can't run in the rain" or a million of other feeble excuses are the ones to beat.

You got out of the door, so well done you.

Happy running and good luck in your new resolutions.

Great honest response, I will re read when the gremlins surface and laugh (hopefully) in the face of their feeble attempts!! Thank you :-)

Welcome Lizzie, we'll have you running for 30 minutes 3 times a week in no time. Amazing, isn't it???

After completing W1r1 you are now officially in the fastest 3% of the UK population. Remaining 97% are still sat on the couch.

Take a photo of yourself full-length in a mirror and look at it again when you complete C25K. You'll be trimmer, toned and your skin will be radiant. Your friends and family will be commenting on your weight loss and all the running effort you've put in will be worth it. Great feeling.

Post often...

Lizzie

Well done for getting started. That was me in April.

I ran 5km "by mistake" yesterday when I got a bit lost on a new morning run route. There's something I never thought I'd post in April! :-)

Mark

Thanks for the stats. Not feeling very well today and that's cheered me right up! :-)
