I just looked ahead at week 4 and it looks so tough - how are you all coping?

I did my first week 4 run today...very early in the morning to try and keep cooler..I won't lie, the 5 minute run made me feel sick but I concentrated on my breathing and plodding along and I made it. I stopped a little short in the second run of 5 mins but it wasn't as bad as I had thought it was going to be...I was dreading the big jump.

5 hrs on and I'm a little achy around the hips but nothing too bad....

Go for it, good luck...

I'll follow you if you like and we can help each other along 😊

I found this week tough, as I had yet to take the 'go slow' advise. So my advice is keep it slow, really slow, really really slow. As Redfraggle1 did concentrate on your breathing. Make sure you are well hydrated. Good Luck :)

Don't look ahead, just the run in front of you, and go slowly. Enjoy!

Well done for getting through week 3, you've already achieved a lot!

Take it one run at a time, and follow the advice on here, go slowly and in this early part of the programme work on getting your breathing into a rhythm. it's difficult at first and feels "unnatural" but keep at it and in a few more weeks you won't even be aware of it!

Good luck with week 4, everyone on here has been where you are and you'll find tonnes of support here to help you along!

It sounds terrifying, but you may be surprised and find it easier than you expect. Your stamina us increasing gradually and your body gets used to doing more. Don't worry too much; go out, take it slowly and see how it goes. All the best!

I guess we all say the same things..

1. Don't look too far ahead.. and get worried.. concentrate on the here and now..

2. Trust the programme – we were ALL where you are, ALL came through it, ALL felt the same ( or similar) so if we can you can!!

3. You may face ( small ) setbacks.. bad runs, niggly pains, blisters.. they are ALL capable of being overcome..

4. you WILL surprise yourself!!

Not what you're looking for?
