Just read this and thought I would share it. As someone who is likely to be at the back in any race I found it very relevant

I found at my HM the later
finishers were cheered more than the middle finishers. They were the ones who had fought their way to the end. The article brought a little tear.
Coming first beats coming last.
Coming last beats "did not finish"
Did not finish trumps "Did not start" !!
I finished my HM at the back and everyone made me feel like a superstar. It was a wonderful feeling. Love the article
Oh dear. I'm a tad teary after reading that. I'm normally a tailend charlie (or the coos tail) & the one thing that parkrun has taught me is that it really doesn't matter. You're still doing better than those not doing it at all.
Great article. Thanks for sharing ☺
I can relate to this 100%. Still feel embarrassed running with a crowd and still very self conscious so this brought a tear and made me smile. I know the support is out there but I think it's going to take me a while to accept it.
What a great article! I think in some events this spirit is lost- I really like it when he said your name will be called and there will be food and drink waiting for you.
