If you have doubts about running then it really would be best to consult your GP first, and if he is not one of the anti running types, then I am sure he will give you the green light. There have been many runners on here who started from where you are, so don't be put off. This programme gives you control. You decide how fast you run and that will probably be slower than you think. You decide whether one rest day is enough for you between runs and should you not complete a run then you repeat it until you have finished it.

Many heavier runners start by walking briskly and then progress to the jog that will carry you through to graduation and a new you. Give it a go. Tell us how you get on and you will have all the support you could possibly need right here on this forum.

Good luck. It works!!!

I'm 111kg myself, did no walking or exercise before starting this. I have spina bifida so have to be careful with my back.

I'm about to do week5 run2 in the morning, and I've not had to repeat any stages at all so far, I've had no aching after the sessions (although they aren't easy at the time lol) and no stitches or ill effects so far. I do jog very slowly though, so maybe that's why.

Anyway I think if I can do it most anyone else can probably do it, but saying that it's always a good idea to check with Dr if you are unsure :-)

And probably the most important things to note - are , firstly that weight in not lost on the road - it is lost in the kitchen!! :) And secondly, we lose weight in the same way as we put it on - slowly, over a long time.!!.
