Well if it's good enough for the editor of Runner's World.....!!! Thanks for that Bazza.
It just makes sense to me - especially over such long distances. It is something that has to be learned though - I have several runner friends who having slowed to a walk cannot pick themselves up to start running again and run/walking for set times is very much a discipline.
Love this, makes a marathon sound achievable!
That was a really useful piece to read Baz. I set out yesterday to do a run, the wind was so strong I walked in parts then ran. I had a lot of negative thoughts on my return, thinking "oh know, I'm going backwards here", my legs really ached before I set out, so not in the best frame of mind. Reading this makes me feel better, I sometimes don't understand how some days I can complete my 4 mile run ok and other days I struggle. I do a regular 5k race (parkrun) and would love to post faster time, this as give me something to think about.
Thank you, Bazza!
That is wonderful article. I have been doing run-walking training since I graduated from C25K. And I am going to run-walk my Hslf Marathon in October.
Thanks Bazza, very good article. ... having run/walked a half marathon in 3 hours this is going to motivate me to do the next one in 2:45
Great article, I think I will be giving this ago!!
A very interesting read that. Problem is I have a strong dislike for intervals as I struggle to start again.
Perhaps I need to revisit with a new attitude.
