Recording distances

Hi

I graduated last week and today I went out for a 30 minute run. Decided to use Week 9 podcast again to get the encouragement from Laura.

I was wondering how people record their distances. I can do it on my iPhone Pacer app but I was wondering the cheapest alternative.

Thank you. I've downloaded it. Does it share my runs with other people or keep them private?

Either , you choose the settings :)

Mapmyrun is a good one. I used it for a while alongside endomondo and then opted for the latter.

I use micoach, which runs in the background and tells me my time, distance and speed every mile, then does a breakdown summary at the end.

I tried Runkeeper, Endomondo and MapMyRun which has given me the best results on my modest Android phone. You can set it to tell you speed and distance every five minutes (or every km or half km) while you listen to your own music. Runkeeper and Endomondo apparently did not pick up the GPS signal so well.

Thank you. Do you have to pay for the function that tells you how you are doing?

It is called Audio Cues in the UK version. You can also pick between a lady with a British type accent or a lady with a US accent. It is a great app :)

No, that's in the free version. You can activate "verbal feedback" in the settings (may be called something else, I am using the German version). Why not try it out?
