I've seen on Garmin Connect that there is a place for other sports, such as swimming - are these to be entered manually? Surely the watch doesn't work in the pool?
Silly question time!: I've seen on Garmin... - Couch to 5K
Silly question time!
ooh I'm watching the replies with interest because I'm just going on the treadmill and was wondering the same, lol
Yes, they have to be entered manually CG.
I think some of the higher end Garmins do work in the pool. Not the more basic ones like mine though!
I can only enter mine manually and my Garmin doesn't load in the pool even though I go to an outdoor one!!
The tri watches defo work on open swims but the GPS can be patchy unless you keep the watch in your swim cap from what I am told
I have the Garmin Swim watch which links to Garmin Connect in the same way as my husband's 110. I can view both from my Garmin Connect page which is really useful. I guess some of the more expensive watches will allow running, swimming, cycling etc. I have found my Garmin Swim to be very accurate.
Some Garmin watches are water resistant and they can record distance, pace, stroke count, stroke type, pool lengths, etc. whilst swimming in a swimming pool. Not much need for GPS in a swimming pool really... is there?
Thanks all! I use an open air pool in France in summer, I have a Finis swim watch, so don't need another, but I thought it might be fun!
I have a TomTom multisport watch and it does Running, Cycling and Swimming. I have a second wristband for swimming. I got it because of running and cycling. The three sports are part of the menu.
