I'm doing the Run Jericho 10k on 21st June. It was brought to my attention that the Oxford Half Marathon is in October, 16 weeks later.

Guess how long the HM training plan I've looked at is?

If you're at 10k on the 21st June, you can get to HM within 8 weeks. You have plenty of time, my friend. And you know you want to ;)

You know, I have to say I do! I've run 10K or more 6 times so far, and I think I can do the step up. The time is another matter though. A performance predictor suggests 2:30, but I think that might be a bit optimistic.

I did my first HM in 2 hrs 12 and I'm an old biddy

You'll be fine if you do the training, which I'm sure you will . I just might join you in a HM in October. I can feel myself being reeled in to a trail one

I managed 10K in 68 minutes on Monday. My times generally are improving quite rapidly, so it would be nice to think I could do a respectable time. 21K or so seems a very long way, though!

It does when you say 21k.

You just keep progressing each week same as you did for C25k, adding a bit more week on week.

you'll do it Steve as you have the tools now to be able to do it safely. Hopefully we have some good weather and light nights to look forward to which gives more opportunity to get out there

Yep! Thanks for the encouragement. I don't want to be complacent about it, but I am so much more confident in my running now.

He he - couldn't resist eh?

My one is one week earlier than yours. Should be a great turnout in Oxford.

Is yours a Vitality one too? The Oxford course sounds like it should be great.

No, it is not a Vitality thing. It is in Tonbridge and is just a little provincial event (600 registered so far). The course is also described as "fast and flat" which sounds a whole lot better than the alternatives!

Can't handle the heat :-(

It is really hot these days and the sun is shining bright at 6:45am. I prefer morning runs as such...
