Very sorry for your loss, but well done you for taking on something positive in his memory.

Stick with the C25k programme, and seriously, you will be a runner in just a few weeks.

Profile posting on here is a good thing :-) It means you're part of the community straight away rather than "lurking" which I was guilty of for a time ... looking forward to posts, lovely smile too

You will be amazed just how quickly you will find that you've become a runner with this programme. It's really great!

It will also give you time to yourself to think happy thoughts about your lovely dad :-)

Good luck! x

Sorry about your dad - and I'm sure he'd be proud of you for what you're doing.

You *will* be a runner in a couple of months. C25K is totally magic, and you'll feel a very different person as you travel through the programme. Welcome to the community.

Welcome. I'm sorry to hear about your father. Running is great for reducing stress and releasing endorphins - I hope it gives you some comfort. And running for charity sounds like a nice way to honor him as well as helping out the cause.

Aaaagh bless you Chrissy. Sending virtual hugs. I lost my mam almost 18 months ago suddenly and 6 months later started running. Wish I had done it sooner. It's been the best thing I've done. I know she's watching me and is very proud. And sometimes beautiful rainbows appear and fill the sky and I'm sure it's her saying, well done pet!!! I sometimes run and cry but that's ok. It helps. I really hope it helps you too. Take care. He will be watching and be so proud too. Xxx

Hi Chrissy, welcome.

So sorry to hear about your dad. I bet he will be proper proud of you for taking this step. Running is a great way of having some clear time to think or not think, whatever suits.

It will be great to run in memory of your dad. My mum died a couple of years ago and while I have done a couple of 5k walks, I've never run before. In a few weeks I am doing the Bristol 10k raising money for our hospice which looked after mum. I know she would be completely amazed because I have never done anything at all like this before ever. I will be proud to run in her memory.

You seem determined, so please stick with this great programme. And there's some really fab people here who will give you all the support you need, so keep popping back.

Good luck and take care :) xx

Chrissy sorry for your loss but welcome to your new C25k family. Well done for starting this program and a personal welcome from me. Post often and you'll always get a reply. Train slowly but surely and I am proof that this program works as I'm running 10k now after 18 weeks. So trainers on and off you go. We will be with you all the way to grad day :) good luck :) J
