W2R1 - Not the ideal method, but better than nothing?!

So its confession time. I was due to complete Run 1 of week 2 today, but stopped off in my local pub "for a quick on" on the way home from running errands. Well one thing led to another (and another and another) and 3 hours later I had to leave my car at the pub! Rather than calling a taxi, I decide to walk/run home and as I say although it was far from prefect I actually completed the workout in the prescribed manor and actually added one further reputation of run/walk to get home.

I therefore seek forgiveness from the group on the grounds that at least I completed the exercise despite destroying any benefit I may have got from it before I even ran!

Wouldn't recommend this as a long term strategy!

Lol. I would love to see your route on GPS..... ↗↘↗⤵⤴😂🙊

Agreed not the best method but forgiven this once. BUT only as its a bank holiday!!!

Just looked at my GPS and actually not that bad. Quite amusing though, heart rate was most definitely up, so I burnt more calories. Something to look back on and learn from. Although maybe running anaesthetised is this answer!

Ooo I bet that beer sloooshed around inside your belly as you ran home! It's a bank holiday, so you are forgiven!

Thanks for that thought! It won't happen again

Oh deary, deary, dear. Now count how many calories in the 'quick ones' v/s the number of calories used on the run/walk.....you're the only one that can forgive you !

Sadly I can tell you exactly as I log everything I eat and drink as I consume it. I will still be under my daily allowance, but waisted calories none the less. I would rather be having dinner tonight.

That is absolutely brilliant!

Sitting here supping a pint, I can quite see this taking off as a new training method, you have nothing to be forgiven for!

I don't get it though. Why run and then undo the good work by drinking more calories than you burned off during the run. Unless you want to put weight on and get a bigger beer belly. If so, it's a plan!

Tut tut. Mr. Chump

Oh well it's your diet, your running plan. You know best (folds arms in a huffy kind of way that only women (and Les Dawson) do

Well done for the confession, that takes some doing. We all make dubious choices sometimes, as some have said not the best for exercise but at least you learnt it raises your heart rate so something new you have learnt about yourself. happy running.

Hey up :) I think it's great that you did the run, AND that you posted your confession too. That takes courage, well done! At least your first run will have been a memorable one. Now onwards and forwards for run number two... which should be easier without three pints in your tum!

Run 2 done and dusted, and much easier. If it had only been 3 pints I would have been fine.
