Week 4 run 3 - terrified for week 5

Morning all, been out and ran week 4 run3. Had an extra rest for sore shins and it has really helped. Run was good and I braved it and went outside, back roads to where I live, it was great, even though it was a bit hilly! But that will help the fitness hopefully. Week 5 seems to be a big one and a bit scary...

You're not alone, w5 seems like a massive jump. Just trust yourself and the plan, you've already put in a lot of effort and you're ready for it! Just take it slow, if you feel like stopping just slow down even more. Speed is not important but you'll feel amazing when you've run for 8 or 20 minutes! Good luck and let us know how you get on!

Thanks Joh2020, your right, I can just slow it down of it feels too much. Just seems a bit scary especially run3!!! Thanks for posting really encouraging and helpful! I will let you know how it goes! :)

I was just like you and thought, no way will I run for 20 minutes. Yesterday I did it, no problem, you WILL and CAN do it, you will surprise yourself, set of nice and easy until you feel comfortable and just breeze through it. Good luck.

You can do it. Just take it a run at a time. It helped me not to look at what lies ahead too much. You will surprise yourself.

Hi SelkieSurray, think that's a plan I will stop floating on day 3! Thank you for the encouragement :)

I posted almost exactly the same post for w5. I was terrified. I was given really good advice here... Tell mental gremlins to (ahem) go away; say to yourself 'can I breathe?- yep. Are my legs falling off? - nope.' Then spot an achievable object in the near distance and head for that slowly. Good luck. I am on week 9 now and feel great.
