So I am starting my c25k tomorrow, as a way of losing weight. I have always wanted to be a runner so now i am just going to do it. I have about 30 kilos to lose, i have lost 6 so far just through dieting. Wish me luck. Any other new starters feel free to contact maybe we can help each other.

Welome! Great choice, I have lost the same, 6 kg just thru running, no dieting at all... Just don't expect the weight loss to happen immediately, it is only when you start running regularly - for me it started happening after graduation, when I started running for about 30 min 3 times a week. Having said that, I wasn't exactly a couch potato before...

I'm new as well. Had a knee injury that set me back after starting in January. Good luck. I have about 60 lbs to lose. Looking for running to help.

Sensible eating, following the programme, completing the programme and continuing with regular (ideally 30 mins or so, 3 times a week) exercise, and you will naturally loose weight and become generally fitter and healthier.

Good luck, you're doing the right thing :) xx

Hi I'm new to running as well.

I have lost 13lb (6 kilo) on weightwatchers before starting C25k. Since I started my weight loss has almost stopped but I have lost a few cm' from various places. I'm still doing WW for now to keep me on the straight and narrow as to what goes in my gob but I've been told that as my body turns my fat (of which I have plenty) to muscle my weight could go up before it goes down. I have plenty to lose - the fat club lady says 5 stone. I say enough to drop 2 dress sizes and I'll be happy.

It took me 3 weeks to complete wk 1 (I never knew I was so unfit). I have done run 1 and 2 of wk 2 and then wk 1 again (don't ask!) I intend on doing the next two wk 2's and attempting wk 3. Repeating weeks might not be the right way to do it but it's working for me. And if it takes me 6 months to do all 9 weeks then it takes me 6 months. The main thing is I'm doing it and, rather surprisingly I'm enjoying it.

Well done for making the decision to do it and good luck.

Yes it is enjoyable, it's great fun. Not all the time admittedly but even when it's terrible weather I always feel glad that I turned out. Once you're out that's the hardest bit over with.

If you keep running and eating sensibly, hopefully ditching the junk, you will lose weight. It comes off your butt first (as that's the fattest bit of your body) My legs which were once like zeppelins are now slimming down and I kept having to hitch my pants up yesterday as I ran round the streets.

It's all good, just keep going ....................

I always wanted to be a runner too, but didn't believe it was possible - other people maybe but not me, but you know what? I am runner and you will be too! C25K really works, just stick to the programme and listen to Laura, she'll tell you what to do. You've come to the right place too, for support and advice. Best of luck keep us posted xx
