hey there y'all. just got back on the weight loss wagon... AGAIN!! damn, if i had a dollar for all the times I've fallen off... i have always wondered whether it's possible to lose weight doing at-home, no-equipment workouts exclusively. is it as effective as the gym? Gym sessions are a bit pricey for me and are therefore not among my options
Exercising at home: hey there y'all. just got... - Couch to 5K
Exercising at home
There are some very good DVD workouts out there and of course the C25K podcast is totally free!! If you've got the commitment and motivation then I think it doesn't matter if you exercise at home or the gym.
I can't afford a gym so I work out at home. Lots of workouts at home requiring nothing but your own body weight. They're not just for weight loss but about getting stronger too. You will lose weight if you stick at it. If you keep falling by the wayside you won't.
Running is a great way to get the weight off but again only if you stick with it
The problem with DVD's is that you have to keep doing the workouts to make it work! I was guilty of buying things and expecting them to work magically whilst not using them!
What I would suggest is to have a look at YouTube - you will find good videos on there. Myfitnesspal.com is great for weight loss too.
As for home equipment - I have kettlebell which I use and am getting results from. It was cheap too (if you are in the UK Lidl has them at the moment).
