Strange one last night. To begin with, I thought I was doing w8r1, but when I counted back I realised that the three 25 minute runs I'd done included r3 of w6. So it was w7r3 last night after all. No biggie, and it's done However, and here's the negative bit, I felt the worst I've ever felt throughout the whole programme. Hip aching from 10 mins in, knee twinges throughout, fit to fall on my knees by the end. Absolutely shattered. Cannot for the life of me understand what went wrong last night, the previous 25 minute'ers had been hard work but nothing like this. Afterwards, recovering in the bath, I started to seriously doubt whether I could step up to week 8 and 9. Then I gave myself a good slap and decided to try Parkrun for the first time on Saturday. Mad or what? Good luck all, keep on running! Steve
Last Night, hmm.: Strange one last night. To... - Couch to 5K
Last Night, hmm.
Sometimes it just feels like that. Put it behind you and enjoy your run tomorrow!
blimey you are jumping in with both feet good for you though, dont worry to much about a 1 off ,it happens maybe an extra days rest might help . parkrun is a great experience but it isnt a race so just do your own thing and enjoy the run but dont over do it .
The 'not a race' is what appeals to me about it Not_So_Slow_Rob. Quite a few people from work do it too so I'm likely to see plenty of friendly faces and it will be interesting to run with other human beings for once!
it is a great atmosphere and really very friendly and encouraging , running with so many others felt really starnge to me at 1st now ,although only once a week, it is great to be around other runners have a great time on saturday
Maybe there's something in the air. Also had awful run this morning. Glad I'm not the only one with a little Sergeant Major inside my head telling me to pull myself together and keep going. Enjoy Parkrun - I need to look this up... maybe in a couple of weeks...
Hi 5k Or Bust, i have been volunteering at my local ParkRun for a few weeks, plucking up courage to join in. Will hopefully give it a go after week 8 so please let us now how you get on!
May be you just need a couple of extra rest days to get you back on track. There's no shame in having a couple of extra days off of your body's telling you it's too tired to move on.
Hopefully you feel ok now? Parkrun is the best, you enjoy yourself tomorrow and go easy
That's just how I felt! I'm about to go and start week 8 now and feel much better about it after reading all the encouragement on here. Parkrun's a good idea. I'm hoping to do one soon
