Re started this a couple of weeks ago. It's amazing what your body can do and what it remembers. Starting back was so much easier than I thought it would be. Loved the high afterwards too but your head says things to you like, why bother, it's cold, you're getting a bit too old for this. And then you go out there and start on week 2 , can still do it , don't feel that cold once you start, you take it slow and steady (as Green Legs from 2 years ago always wrote. Where are you Grren legs? I miss you!) and it's great. Go home buzzing and glowing and determined to keep going. Love it.
Still with it, when I remember.: Re started this... - Couch to 5K
Still with it, when I remember.
ah yes, this!! I've done the same thing, started again after doing it about 2 years ago. I've signed up on a group C25K near work so not following the plan to the letter, but the community on here is even better than before and I think once you've done it in the past, you know it is possible. Here's to the future!
That's great that you've started again, 'buzzing and glowing and determined to keep going' I love that and agree wholeheartedly! X
That;s amazing. I'm on Week 2 second time round too and am finding it so much easier! It;s tempting to skip ahead but I know that wouldn't be sensible. Maybe we'll graduate again together? A bit like renewing your vows...
Now there's a thought! We can keep each other going, keep me posted! Planning to do my W2 day 2 tomorrow.
I was planning to do W3 Run 1 today but it's raining! In New Zealand. Unheard of! Yes, definitely. Let;s updaye each other on our progress. I am so anxious not to get injured again that I swallow handsful of glucosamine, chondroitin, multivitamins, immune support capsules each day AND wear an ankle support when I run . Probably the placebo effect but so far I am uninjured! My 45 year old son has challenged his two siblings and their mother to join him in a 10k In July so I have a target to aim for.
Hi Turnturtle I have just started again after 5 months on the bench had a shoulder op way back in October not finding it too bad at the moment Pat
Good for you! If you are missing Laura's lovely songs you can download them again, there's a pinned post at the top...
Don't quit this time! Stick with it and you'll do it. How old are you?
There are lots of older runners here who have all managed the programme from off the couch, most unfit and overweight (I'd venture to suggest) but have done it, graduated and are now running their legs off 3 times a week and more
You have to stick with things. Don't be a quitter! Come on! You can do this
Go Sadie, Go Sadie!!!! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaa
Well done for starting again, it does become addictive and I'm sure there will be enough encouragement from this community. Keep posting and happy running. 😊
