Had a superb time meeting lots of lovely C25Kers at the london winter run. It was very chilly and the shorts without skins was probably a mistake, My calf held up but did worry me as I was really pushing. Started with Aussie but managed to weave through the crowds and get ahead. Ms Garmin kept warning me if I went too fast or too slow. (I'm running up a hill of course I'm going slower). Managed to run without walking which was great, dodging walkers later on in the course.
We started on the Embankment ran along to Tower Bridge, Up past St Pauls, doubled back on ourselves, finally hit the embankment again and couldn't believe how long it was. The last kilometre was rough. Mrs GF, daughter and Rico took photos and a video and boy was I struggling by then but I tried to sprint for the finish and remembered to stop Ms Garmin.
So now the results. 2 new PBs - 5K was covered in 26 mins 36 secs. 10K was 55:36 from Ms Garmin, Official time 55:26. Nice medal and hugs from Polar Bears. Unfortunately couldn't meet up after the race for a beer but I'll raise a glass to you all tonight.
Continuing myasics plan which has 3 days rest the same as Ms Garmin recommends. I have included the link to my garmin run. connect.garmin.com/modern/a... Note the extreme heart rate for almost all of the run. I also had a new Max Heart Rate of 189 which was after the sprint. Just shows the fantastic capabilities of the human body.
Congratulations to all the winners today at the London Winter Run and a massive thank you for all the support you have given me since I started my journey.
Happy Running All

Stupendous GF! Great report and what a whopping great time! You must be thrilled. I'm sure you probably didn't have time to take in all the sights along the way but I'm sure the atmosphere was brilliant. Really well done. Hope you're enjoying a rest and a nice celebration.
Great to meet you and the family. What a good time. You missed your slice of chocolate cake at the end, next time. It was lovely to meet everyone, it's been a great day. Next year I want to be running.
