Oh dear Moger. You can't keep a good man down though and you're still signing up for races. I hope you are soon over your injury!! What a flippin nuisance
That's an impressive lot of miles Moger, but not good that you are injured again. I hope you are back to full fitness soon. More races beckon I reckon! X
thanks no excuse yes its bit of bummer gutted really one race booked so far and im 4 days into it ,have ordered some new gear to cheer myself up 10 more days and counting
Oh no what a shame, I'm so sorry to hear that. If you swim at The Abbey or Parkside, and don't have a membership, you can buy a card, I think it's called Pay and Play. They don't advertise it, you have to ask. I paid £10, it lasts for a year and you get a reduction off every time you swim. I pay £3 instead of £4.80, so it pays for itself quickly. I might have the granny rate though!
I feel your frustration I have runner's knee which is stopping me from getting passed 5ks at the mo. like you, slowly but surely iI will be back on my long runs but hate not being able to do so. Good luck on your race I'm scared to book one until my knee is strong again. Don't enjoy the rest too much and happy running again
10 more days left for me have you try the kinetic revolution 30 day challenge its a program to help you build up your muscle s for running like core, hips balance and running style 4 exercises every night 15 mins and you get a email every day ,when i had a bad hip it really helped you can feel after a week and its free kinetic-revolution.com/30da... have look hope your knee gets better you might wont to work on balance and ankle strength and try running more midfoot that will take some off the stress off that knee all the best
Thank you Moger that is great advice - I am finding ways around it by using my left leg more (if that makes sense) when me right knee starts to twinge . Will definitely give it a go. I am really glad I came on here today now. It is experiences of people like yourself that understand. Thanks again
Snap! I did 3 miles earlier too. Whist it was not brilliant it was much better. I go out at the moment with apprehension. Today I didn't hurt too much, the pain (twinge) seemed to travel downwards and I did feel towards the end that I could run more powerfully. Nowhere near my normal distances - like you! but we both be back running long long soon!! The stretches are really helping. It is great and have recommended it to others too. Good luck for Saturday and we all know the saying ' A short run is better than no run at all' Keep us posted
What a bu**er moger. But you have put in a lot of mileage! Your body will probably thank you for the rest from running for a while but I know you'll be back stronger than ever!
yes a pain in the backside physio said its only a mild calf strain 2wk lay off ,i went tuesday done 3 miles ok little stiff after so will go again on sunday
