Hi, I have just joined c25k and wondering if there is any community in High Wycombe I could join for regular run.
I am very excited to join.

Some running clubs run C25k courses as well as some leisure centres, but I think that doing C25k by yourself is the best way. When you start, to get maximum benefit, you need to run as fast as you can comfortably. That is at a speed at which you can breathe without puffing and that is sustainable. As your breathing improves you will be able to increase your speed, but for most of us, breathing is the limiting factor which defines our sustainable pace. If you run with someone else, it is highly unlikely that you will both have the same natural pace, so somebody will be running below optimum. If your running buddy is not available, or even stops following the programme, you will have to decide whether you are going to continue on your own. Learning to run is a lot of mental challenges heaped on top of the physical ones, which a buddy may help you through, but the question is will you be as strong when when you are on your own and the demons tell you to stop this ridiculous running thing, right now. Developing the self motivation to run, to the point that it is a habit that you couldn't kick if you wanted to, is an important part of the process.
Don't get me wrong, running with others is companionable and a real pleasure. My wife and I ran together this morning, even though we have very different natural paces and it was a delight, but we did not run together at the early stages of learning.
Most of us on this forum undertook the programme on our own and this forum will supply you with all the support and advice you will ever need. Just download the podcasts or app and off you go, guided all the way by our figurehead, Laura. It really works and can transform you and your life beyond recognition. Just be warned, it is addictive. Good luck. You won't look back........and tell us how you get on.
