Great Community

When I set out on C25K I initially looked to join a local C25K group advertised on town FB group. I registered my interest but never got a response from organiser (A man). I did get messages from a couple of women suggesting that I would be out of place as the previous group was mainly young women and mothers and it would probably make me feel uncomfortable and suggested it wasnt for me. Oh ok I thought, I won't bother then. But did feel a little discriminated against for being a "mature" male.

Anyways I persevered on my own, then I found this community. I have to say as someone who needs group motivation to do stuff like this, this has been brilliant.

Lots of "cyber" encouragement and friendship. Still three weeks to go, but a big thank you to this community for getting me this far. 😁

I joined our local council jog group but it was mostly women Leaders were blokes though I did enjoy the sessions though and glad I did it, but they fizzled. They are back on now though, and my husband went along last week for his first C25k session. There were just two women there and the leader (a bloke) failed to show 🙁. He said he daren’t come home 😁 so he went to the gym and had a go on the treadmill Back on this week though apparently. Maybe yours will be ok John. Don’t give up on it so soon 🙂👍🏃‍♂️

I totally agree with. We don’t know each other from Adam (maybe some people do .....), but it’s almost like talking with actual friends. There’s such a lovely atmosphere on here, and everyone’s so encouraging.

Shame on those running club people. 😠

We’re here for you! 😀👍🏻🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Shame on them!! How mean! I hope their cakes fail to rise ever again. 😕

Seriously though, that's so not on but I'm so glad you've carried on. I believe the diversity here is what makes it so great. All ages, genders, abilities, sizes and levels of fitness!!

You don't need them, we'll get you through! 👍😁🌟

This group got me there and it’s very diverse and inclusive! 56 years old and made to feel every step is a success. If I feel like stopping I “hear” you all encouraging me!!!
