It's one of the best things you'll ever do and a tremendous cure for the feeling sorry for yourself thingy. You will have adventures, fun, laughter, happiness, disappointment, learn to fight on and on, take control of your life, feel better, look better, lose weight, gain muscle tone and self respect and on a good day be able to take over the world and for the not so good days everyone here is ready and willing to lend support - so off you go and welcome to the forum
You have made a good choice and C25k will change your life. However, it cannot banish feeling sorry for yourself. After eighteen months since I started C25k, I am languishing in a depressed state, because I have only managed to run twice since the beginning of December owing to a lingering virus, which does not like me exerting myself..........so although your general health will improve, you don't become invulnerable to nasty bugs. Everything Runon says is spot on and we all get a kick out of a new runner discovering the joys of running for the first time, so come here for advice support and to brag about your sporting prowess.
Well it worked for me. I was the unfittest, blobbiest, laziest, whingiest person I know. I have suffered from depression for YEARS and this programme is the best thing I have ever done ... for my mental health! And a side effect is that I am fitter too! Who knew!!! Good luck. You won't regret it!
Great decision you've made there This is a great forum and a great program and the lovely Laura will guide you all the way. Plus all the lovely support you get on here
Hi Sue - welcome to C25K and a whole new you!
Everybody above is absolutely bang on the money, and I was where you are back in October! Definitely works for me, and now I get grumpy when I can't get out, although I've learnt to accept that 'every other day' doesn't work for me with an underlying condition that leaves me more susceptible to pulled muscles.
It's still a fab ride though, as I'm sure you'll find out. Good luck and happy running. You CAN do it!!!
It's the best thing you can do for yourself, download those podcasts and listen to Laura's wise words! Take it nice and slow and don't forget to tell us how you get on. Running does definitely make you fitter and this programme works!!
Good luck. Keep posting how it's going. It's good to hear about other people's experiences
Good luck and welcome to the forum, this is a great place for advice, encouragement and inspiration, enjoy the journey. We will be there with you all the way to graduation and beyond
