Hello everyone, I haven't blogged for a while so you have most likely forgotten me!!
I wanted to give an update on my winter runnings... I have found it tough in the dark, cold and icy rain...
I ran a new parkrun yesterday at Killerton and it was fab. I bumped into nick from work ( 26 mins) and it was much smaller than our local one.. It was SOO muddy and SOO wet wet wet. I was running in mini bath shoes by the end which pulled me down but the route was glorious. Leon was way up ahead as usual and I found myself swearing alot as I nearly went A over T on the mud ( sorry fellow runners it just comes out).
Then I had a wonderful afternoon and met 2 fellow C25kers, the deliciously delightful Da - Truffe's... I wish we could have talked more but we were being entertained by my one of my family who likes to talk!!!! The evening was spent at a friends eating curry and getting totally pi$$ed on port ( in my defence my glass kept getting refilled).
So all in all it looked unlikely I'd run today, but you know what.. I got Leon out of bed at 10.30 and said 'come on babes, lets run' so hubby drops us off 10k away and we ran back. ... Big hills, icy cold wind and rain but you know... I loved every second... I felt like a child again... we ran through puddles, I gave Leon piggybacks through the floods, his hands got icy cold so I held them as we ran to warm him up and then we took it in turns pulling each other up the hills. We had jelly beans as a halfway treat which fuelled us up to carry on...It was like being ten again and out on an adventure. I really felt Id found my panther again and she's purring...No records were beaten but it was the best...
I'm going to get Leon some running mittens and a hat, I forget he feels the cold so much more at 12......
The pic is Leon is his new Buff at the Golden Arches!!! ( not sure why it's wrong way?!)
Happy New year everyone

Hi Julia, it was great to meet you and yours yesterday. No we didn't get to talk much about running did we!! Families, eh?
Well done on getting out today.....I was glad I ran yesterday.
Last Sunday we did a 10k run/walk, when we had decided that we would run when we could and walk if necessary. Capering through the woods and the puddles like a couple of eight year olds, we were. We lost a century between us on that run and proved that it doesn't have to be hard to be fun.
Hey, welcome back. Been missing the update on your panther and glad to hear she's still there. Your running sounds glorious, despite the cold ice and wet...
Welcome back and what a lovely post. It's good to be reminded as we struggle sometimes that there is fun out there and its good. It's so easy to take it too seriously. Your post is full of everything running should be to everyone. I am glad the panther is back.
haha! Are you taking the f****** p**s?!!! What a super duper blogette that was. And fancy meeting the Da Truffe's too! Did you get their autograph? The parkrun expletives sound hilarious. I can almost hear you ;
"Oh ***** hell! This ****** mud is *****g p****ng me right off and ****** is ******* **** **** jacksy if it doesn't f******* stop ****** ******* down!" (btw I have no idea what that sentence means, I thought it would be amusing to fill in the blanks yourself!).
Pie eyed on port eh? HEadache City!!! I've given up booze completely. For a bit. Hopefully for January anyway...
Keep blogging otherwise I'll send da boys raaahnd!
Oohh well done you on the naughty booze...your blankety blanks are spot on, I think I was quite loud as I had my earphones in and loud music playing... There's something about having a good swear when you are pushing yourself, my alternative mantra for such occasions is 'f***, s***, b*******
