week three complete: just completed week 3 and... - Couch to 5K
week three complete
The best advice I've had on here is to take it as slow as you like. Just take a look at other runners while you are out. None of them are exactly sprinting are they?
You can build up improved speed later if you want. Just finish this program first. I've just done the 8 minute runs on week 5, and I've got the dreaded 20 minute one on Thursday. It still looks like a very big ask at this stage. But hey, others have done it so you can do it, and so can I.
Good luck!
Well done on getting to W4. Don't worry and don't doubt.....this programme has turned many thousands of couch potatoes into runners and we nearly all had doubts at some point. Just remember that you are in control. Each run prepares you for the next one and if you trust the programme, follow Laura's advice (don't worry too much about her foot strike and breathing advice though), then you will move on through the weeks and in no time at all you WILL be running for 30 minutes non stop.....believe me, it really does work. If you have completed a run then move on to the next. If you have trouble actually completing a run, then panic not, just repeat it until you do complete it.
C25k will teach you a lot about yourself and you will probably be surprised and delighted by your own ability. As meadsey says, take it nice and slow.
Good luck.
hi, well done on getting to this point, everyone looks ahead and thinks NAH cant do that etc but ou CAN if you stick with the program each week builds for the following weeks , stay slow and steady, and you will be just fine it is as much a mental challenge as a physical one you will surprise your self
I've done week 4 run 2 today and felt exactly like you. But if I can do it so can you. My friend did it today as well for the first time as she was away at the weekend.
Best advice. Slow and steady....and breathe properly. Listen to Laura. I'm sure that's what everyone has said.
Good luck. Wk5 R3 is the one I'm dreading now :)) xx
i'm due to complete my week 3 this evening... and looking ahead to week 4 and i am with you... not sure how i can run for 5 whole minutes! 3 minutes twice in this set has been tough enough and my legs feel like they're going to fall off!
Should i repeat week 3 again till im ok running for 3 mins ?
Hi nutorun, from the feedback I have got from the good people on here they say trust in the program so that's what I'm going to do the feeling of completing tomorrows run will be fantastic so I would say lets do it....I will let you know how it goes tomorrow. Good luck with your last week 3 run
YAY! I completed my last run of week 3 last night - and i found it surprisingly ok... i felt fine - well less exhausted than the 2nd run which i did on Monday. So feel quite confident(!) about Friday's Week 4 Run 1
So glad i found this Forum...
well done, nutorun thats great news its how good does it feel?i had my first run on week 4 tonight ...what a feeling it was once i had finished i paced my self well and after the last 5 minute run i had a bit to spare well done once again, enjoy week 4.
hi nu,how are you finding week 4 i have my last run on week 4 tomorrow another step up after that', it feels great!
loving week 4... i must be mad i know.. but actually i seem to be coping ok.. and can manage the 5 mins run despite thinking that i'd never be able to run for 3 mins let alone 5. Last run of Week 4 this evening... EEK! Hope i haven't just jinxed myself by saying that
