I'm nearing the end of C25K and can honestly say I've enjoyed it and will continue running every other day. I'm currently on week 8 and running (jogging!) for 28 minutes non stop and covering 3.75k. Next week will be by final week of C25K and I will be running for 30 minutes. Based on the distance I'm covering so far, I'm expecting to cover a distance of around 4k and not much more.
Do many people actually manage to run 5k in 30 minutes by week 9, or is it just me that will take longer?
I guess it'll be a case of continuing to run for an extra couple of minutes each week in the hope that my speed increases and I eventually get to run 5k in around 30 minutes!

Good luck to you on almost completing C25K, just take week 9 and especially run 3 slow and steady, the important thing is to run for 30 minutes, not necessary get to 5K.
Well done! Posts on here previously about vast majority of folk don’t reach 5k in 30 mins but rather are on the way. I’m due to do my final run tomorrow and given I clocked 4.94km including the 10 mins warm up / down, I’ll be nowhere near either and don’t give a fig cus I’ll have run for 30 mins 3 times in one week which has never previously been asked of my 52 year old self or in any of the previous 51 ish years my legs have held me up so I’m chuffed. Good luck with the final few- feel great doesn’t it?!!
Well done. I'm close in age to you turning 50 in July. I too have never run as much as I have in the last 2 months! Wishing I'd started sooner now, but hey better now than not at all.
No I don't think many people actually get to 5k by the end of c25k but don't worry the idea is to get you running for 30 minutes which you will be able to do good luck 😊
I didn’t! I run slowly (Japanese slow jogging technique) so after graduation then consolidation, I added duration to one of my runs and did my first 5k two months after graduating in 45 mins. So don’t worry, you’re not alone!
Great thanks all. I need to read up more on "consolidation" but from the brief Google I've done it looks like I keep running for 30 mins every other day for 3 weeks. Is there any good links that anyone can direct me to regarding consolidation after C25K?
