Hi runners, just wondering if races generally continue over winter in UK? I'm home mid October to mid March, how do you all find out about all these runs? I'll be back in UK mid OCT, I know about park run and intend to join as I can, but will there be other races/runs I can join or do they stop when it gets cold? I want a medal too!
Winter races?: Hi runners, just wondering if... - Couch to 5K
Winter races?
try a website entrycentral.com where you specify your postcode, how far to travel and what distance race you want to do and it will match the criteria for you. A lot of running clubs use it to market their races and book your place. Bupa do organise some races through the winter, I did the Great Winter Run (5K) in Edinburgh at start of January and know I could do it again in 2015.
I'm signed up for a Movember race 10k in November (you get a moustache medal!) there are always a lot around christmas too like pudding runs (Boxing Day hence the name) etc. I'm sure you'll find something
Morning Cg That's really exciting coming home And a race!
Well I do a general google search for the area and distance race / run - but I expect everyone does that :)!
Then often go to Runners World site & have a read of a race there before picking up the link directly to the race site.
I'm doing a mo run in Milton Keynes & The Althorpe 10k in October - good luck x
Goodrunguide has them all listed and there are various ways of searching
It seems winter is a popular time for races, they're all over the place
I've got two that I fancy entering
