Still on week 6 but wanting to plan beyond graduation. Can anyone tell me how to find out about races or other events to take part in locally?
Where to find races?: Still on week 6 but... - Couch to 5K
Where to find races?
runningbug is one place. I just used it to enter a run in Worcester!. There must be others.
The running mags have races listed. I found that speaking to people at parkrun helps, there's always someone running a race somewhere and also maybe joining a local running group if there is one near you. Mine has put me in the know for loads of them x 😀
What's park run?
google it to find if there's one near you. It's a timed 5k run in local parks all over the country and free. I live in a semi-rural backwater and there are 350 people do it each week.
Brilliant, I will. Thanks
Yes, what rmnsuk said, it isn't a race it's a timed run, you register on-line and print off a barcode which you take with you each week. This is scanned after the run to establish your time. I am lucky and have 3 within 20 min drive. They are for all abilities. Once you register you can run at any of them. Once you get talking to others it leads to all-sorts, or at least it did with me. Good luck x 😊
I tend to use the Runners World site:
Hey Clarmurs have you seen posts about podcasts for speed and stamina etc post graduation. Def gonna look at these if they are appropriate! Funny I was thinking about post graduation having finished week five and peeking at six earlier 😃
Well done for finishing week 5, how did you find the 29 min run? No I've not seen the podcasts for speed and stamina, can you point me in the right direction? I'm just home from doing w6r2 thought I was dying while I was running the second 10 min but when I finished I realised I'd run a lot faster than before
Oops typo, I meant 20 min run
Lol! Darned autocorrect . Was thinking blimey only did 20! Went really well thanks chuffed to bits! I haven't investigated only noticed people posting about these post grad programmes! Well done for week 6 run 2!
