Second Lieutenant I_will (classics div), I know I can always rely on you, I was not expecting you to be a dobber-outer. It's always heart-warming to have children caring for and entertaining their elders. I travel to Isengard to do my bit.
Apologies if I've missed this, but is there a justgiving or suchlike page for donations? Can't do the challenge myself, but would like to add a donation, we need to look after our troops
We are all giving £1 to our favourite charities. In their shops, in collection boxes, over the internet, you choose and tell us who it is and why. (We are an imaginary army who chat together over Jammie Dodgers and Vimto, not an official one.)
Then next time I pass a suitable collecting tin, I shall drop something in it and hope to do the next "challenge" as well.
The troops reference was to poppypug's chosen charity - I have a nephew who's done a few stints in Afghanistan (only the safe bits as he told his mum !!) - and has thankfully come through safely. Sadly not the case for so many other families.
I'd be happy to join in with the jammy dodgers in the meantime but will swap the vimto for ginger beer though
I completed *a* triathlon this morning (not before breakfast, but before I would normally be up for brekkie on a Sunday), but only the bike ride meets the Discombulated requirements. However with the swim I did on Tuesday and now the bike ride over and done with the next run I do will count and I'll have completed! That will be tomorrow, or maybe Tuesday if I let these poor old legs have a rest tomorrow.
Hi PandaRunner, good to hear you're on the case. I sent £5 to the fund via paypal as my discombobulated charity. It must be so difficult to face such circumstances, anything that can assuage the pain, even if only to a tiny degree, is hopefully some solace in the long term.
The collection boxes are no longer in the store I visited today so I have made an on line donation. The lady who set up the charity has had another baby this week xx
Have done the swim this morning back stroke mostly and in the sea. First 10mins great fun & very relaxing, next 20 hard going. I'm not a water baby by any stretch of the imagination. The run this afternoon was great & tomorrow the cross trainer thing is booked & by that I mean my friend's garage gym (0ne cross trainer thing) is available. I may need to take a radio with me as she is refusing to spend 30mins watching me sweat. She says she'd lay down her life for me but she won't watch me sweat for that long.
Not the Times, far too strait laced for me. And, no,I didn't. 57 down? In the old game of hazard, a number (between five and nine) called before throwing the dice. 4 letters - M_I_ ? I bet nan or grandad could help us with that.
Having completed The Dozz-ville Challenge Award For The Discombobulated, am I now officially entitled to put (triathlete) (horticultural division) after my name!?
Oh yes. My chosen charity is Guide Dogs for the Blind - there are so many I could choose, but my father-in-law went completely blind very suddenly earlier this year and finding ways to help him continue to live a dignified and full life have become a priority for us.
Well done Second Lieutenant PilgrimPip (triathlete)! We'll ponder the horticultural bit - you usually have to be a long standing troop to get a div of your own and we may have a rather irate grower of chard and pumpkins if I just give it away! Well done with the triathlon!
Why thank you I am proud to be among such esteemed troops, albeit a newcomer. I would certainly not wish to put any noses out of joint, especially not one that values pumpkins and chard!
So how long have you older troops been engaged in this activity? I mean this particular cyber group? I definitely feel like an ignorant and anxious newbie....
Oh yes, I just haven't made it to modern day PC levels yet. The pink top belongs to a lady on the C25K website. Not sure of her name other than 'nemesis'.
