I started C25K with a goal of running the whole 5km of a Race For Life. Although I exercised regularly I had never run since school, and am now in my fifties. I'd managed to beat the 5km run a while back, so was confident I could do it on the actual day, and I did. The programme was invaluable in making it achievable, both mentally and physically.
I'm going to carry on running and have new targets of running a 10k, and having a sub 30min 5k time. The latter will be a lot harder, I think, but I am very determined to achieve it even if it takes me a year or so!
Thanks for the encouragement and support.

Well done, Blooming!! Good to hear you're going to carry on - and I'm sure you'll reach those targets too - just take it steady and let them come to you, rather than you rushing off to meet them.
This running lark becomes a bit addictive, I did C25k for exactly the same reason last year, but have kept going have made it to 10K, no where near 30 mins for 5K yet, but just keep plodding on. Enjoy
