Tomorrow, according to the DWP, I will officially be 'old'. To celebrate my final day of youth (I have been 35 since...well, since I was 35!) I decided to push the boat out and aim for 10k, which I haven't done for a while.
I've been finding it tough going again recently... going from a week of PBs before I went on holiday to struggling to make 5k has been difficult and I've lost a bit of my mojo. Yesterday, I just did a bit of speed work, a few sprints interspersed with slow jog/walk intervals. Although I've never run on consecutive days before, I just felt I needed to *achieve* something to keep me going, so set out to do a slow and steady 10k. The route has quite a few uphills which adds a bit of stamina work into the mix too.
Anyway, I've just got back in, having done the 10 in a middling time, soaked through from a couple of downpours but happy that I did it and added another 2k after walking for few minutes. Maybe it was wearing my sparkly new Graduate pin badge on my top that gave me the kick up the backside I needed!
