Aldi is having a cycling gear sale this Sunday which includes Garmin Forerunner 10 lookalikes, with heart rate monitor, a snip at £64.99. Pink, green and black. They seem to have a lot of functions, including a gps map and compass, though don't know how they compare to the Garmin in other ways. Definitely worth a look, also for cycling stuff.

Aldi alert! GPS watches for £65 on Sunday 29 June
I've just seen them in my Aldi leaflet thing! They have a 3 yr warranty too! It looks like you may be able to upload routes and use it for directions. Bloody Aldi, they feature everything I wanted, 4 weeks after I've bought it somewhere else! It was the same with the running gear and camping equipment!
There is a video here showing its features in greater detail. youtube.com/watch?v=SCPITPK... Looks like a bargain.
Also some user experiences here. coolrunning.com.au/forums/i...
Hummmmm have just received my Garmin through the post today. I probably didn't need to see this post!
Me neither as I received my Garmin yesterday!
And theres no Aldi next to me!!! I want one of those...
Ooh looks good, it has a heart rate feature and strap included which the Garmin fr10 doesn't have, would be tempted if I didn't already have the fr10. Thanks for posting TT.
Did anyone get one of these?? Passing by Aldi tomorrow and wondered if they were worth getting if they have one left.
Yeah, I did and I am very impressed with it. It is the same (with cosmetic differences) to the Runtastic watch which you can get on Ebay for £120 and also the Ultrasport Navrun 500 which is £88 on Amazon. It gets a GPS fix in 4 seconds and can provide you with more data than you know what to do with. The HRM works ok and I found quite comfortable on my run this morning. My local store did not have them on display and I had to ask for it. ??? It comes with a written manual in pretty good English, 16 hour GPS battery life and a three year warranty. Aldi have a 60 day no quibble returns policy, so you could try it out and see how you get on with it.
It feels like a quality item. Good luck.
Glad you got one! Black, I presume? I was too late - rolled on down to my local Aldi at around 11.30am on Sunday, and they had already sold old, apart from two pink ones - apparently the queue went round the block (I had to ask the manager too). It was proper, garish, Barbie/My Little Pony plastic tea-set pink, if you know what I mean, and I just couldn't... may regret my decision based on your review!
Didn't get there in the end. Did Asda instead - guess it's just saving me money, I really don't need one anyway
My wife brought the first GPS watch that Aldi had some years ago. It is a fantastic device. I have been hiking the Cornish Coastline and the downloads on the app are really good. Unfortunatly the watch broke just above the strap. It is that good though I have been waiting for them to be on sale again and will be getting another one. Excellent value for money.
