Morning all, last year in January, I started the C25K program, completed it in May, and ran a good few 5K parkruns and the race for Life. I was totally loving the running, and looking forward to building up to a 10K run. Then, for no actual reason I can pinpoint (got lots of flimsy excuses, but nothing concrete) I stopped. My running shoes are back in their box, my leggings and tops are at the back of the wardrobe, and I've gone up around 2 dress sizes.
I really need to get motivated to get back in shape, hoping I can get some inspiration from you guys!!! Kathy x

Go right back to W1R1 -- find a nice place to run ( maybe alongside a pretty river?) and do some slow intervals ala W1R1 -- you will soon get back into the saddle!!
Oh Kathy. Something had drawn you back here. You're already motivated. Just read the posts on here for some inspiration. Step out of that door and do the first run of week one then report back how it felt. Trust yourself. Trust the plan. You can do this. Xxx
You've already proven that you can. And you know you enjoy it. It's summer, and once you get into the habit, it will be lovely to get a bit of fresh air while running. See it as a treat to yourself, something to look forward to
You know you can do it - you've already done it once before. The weather is beautiful at the moment so it's a great time of year to start running again. Maybe you could sign up for another 5K in a few months time, I find that nothing motivates me as much as having a goal like that to aim for, and that way you can't get out of it. Once you get out there again and remember how good it felt to run, your motivation will come back. Good luck!
The fact that you have come back here is a good start in itself! I'd say start all over again to build up your fitness levels and work from there. Is there a ladies running group in your area that you could join? We have a beginners group started up 4 weeks ago for Race for Life training by our council/sports for all - it's been so popular that we've been asking about making a regular group. Its a great way of meeting like minded people. Do any of your friends run? Since I started only 6 weeks ago a couple of my friends have given it a go too so we meet up for a 'shuffle' (my running style!) along instead of a coffee and chat. Get back into parkrun - you don't have to go every week - but it will give you that reason to keep training. good luck xx
You can do it, so why not just go out and do W1R1? It really won't be that long before you're back into the swing of things, so hopefully you'll be enjoying your running and wondering why you ever stopped before you know it. Don't kick yourself and feel guilty, just enjoy the journey back into running.
You've done C25K once and you can do it again! From the way you speak, I can tell you have a yearning to get your run nine shoes outta the box again and hit the streets once more; being on here proves that!
The sun is out, there's optimism in the air; imagine how good it'll feel to be out there, getting fitter again with each step, enjoying your running and working towards the goal of being fitter and healthier - and more races and Parkruns!
As others have said, start back at W1R1 and you'll be back in your stride before you know of it.
Ssshhhhhhh, can you hear that? No? Listen harder.... That's the soft, gentle sound of your running shoes calling you.....
