So, I've made it to week 9, so far so good. Loved every minute of this journey and, think I might just shape up to be a runner.
Completed W9r1 on Saturday morning feeling amazing splashing through puddles and squelching through mud, wind and rain on my face - exhilarating! Fast forward to Saturday evening and I am completely wiped out with a flu bug. I've been off work for 3 days now but worse than that I'm in week 9 limbo. So close to graduation, pah!
To add insult to injury the new running kit I ordered arrived this week and I haven't even tried it on.
But looking on the positive side I'm hoping to go back to work tomorrow and to do W9r2 at the weekend.
Sorry for the rant, just so frustrating.
Happy running everyone 😀 X

Well done! Great news that you made it to Graduation. Be sure to apply for your badge
Sorry to hear you have flu so just rest up. While doing so you can formulate some running plans. Take your time. Running legs need to be buit and it takes a while
Sorry to hear you're under the weather. Take your time and let it pass - after 8 weeks training you won't lose your fitness in a week. And as Rig' says, there are plenty more weeks ahead of you.
Thanks all for your kind messages. That's what I love about this forum and the running community in general, everyone is so supportive and inclusive, and of course you are all right, there is lots of time to do much more running in the future.
Grr, how frustrating when all u can do is stay alive! Looking forward to hearing about how a run in the new kit goes - even new socks give me a boost, great to feel and look the business. Get well soon, excited to hear all about it. Julie 😌
I never imagined I'd get excited about going for a run but here I am looking forward to my next run on Saturday morning. Hope the weather is ok - oh who am I kidding I'm going anyway 😀
Put all that frustration in to your next run when you feel up to it and it will help to spur you on. You are almost there, this is only a minor set back. Good luck and I look forward to seeing your graduation badge next to your name soon
